Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Manage and oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time, including regular salaries, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
  • Compliance: Ensure payroll processing complies with relevant tax laws, labor laws, and company policies, including PAYE, NIC, pensions, and other statutory deductions.
  • System Management: Maintain and manage the payroll software, ensuring it is up-to-date and functioning efficiently. Resolve any payroll system issues as they arise.
  • Payroll Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports for management, including payroll costs, tax liabilities, and benefit contributions.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll accounts, ensuring all payroll-related transactions are accurately posted to the general ledger.
  • Benefits Administration: Oversee the administration of employee benefits, such as pensions, health insurance, and other schemes. Ensure accurate payroll deductions and contributions.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the payroll team, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. Ensure the team is well-equipped to handle all payroll tasks efficiently.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve payroll processes and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency and compliance.
  • Audit Support: Assist in internal and external payroll audits, providing necessary documentation and resolving any audit queries.

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Payroll certifications (e.g., CIPP, APA) are highly desirable.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in payroll management, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Skills:
    • Extensive knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
    • Strong proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Sage Payroll, Workday) and Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
