Job Summary:

The Management Accountant is responsible for providing financial insights and analysis to support decision-making within the business. Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and variance analysis.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, re-forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
  • Cost Control & Analysis: Analyze costs and expenses to ensure effective use of company resources. Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and operational efficiencies.
  • Financial Planning: Develop financial models to support business planning, investments, and strategic decision-making.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and forecast cash flow to ensure the business has sufficient liquidity for operations and investments.
  • Variance Analysis: Perform in-depth variance analysis to explain deviations between actual and budgeted performance, identifying key drivers of financial outcomes.
  • Performance Metrics: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor business performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Support Business Units: Work closely with various departments, providing financial insights and support for operational decisions.
  • Month-End Closing: Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Financial Systems: Maintain and improve financial systems and processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting.
  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. Assist in audits and ensure proper financial controls are in place.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support special projects, new initiatives, or business cases.

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification is preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or a related role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
    • Solid understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
    • Ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
