Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Advisory: Deliver clear and concise VAT advice to clients, assisting them in understanding and meeting their VAT obligations accurately and timely to avoid unexpected costs, interest, and penalties.​
  • HMRC Liaison: Engage with HMRC on behalf of clients to resolve disputes, seek clarifications, and negotiate favorable outcomes.​
  • Compliance Oversight: Supervise the preparation and review of VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant legislation.​The Sun+1PKFLittleJohn Careers+1
  • Risk Management: Identify potential VAT risks and implement strategies to mitigate them effectively.​
  • Business Development: Identify opportunities to expand the VAT client portfolio by converting inquiries into projects and securing new engagements.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor junior staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring high-quality service delivery.​
  • Training: Conduct training sessions for staff and clients on VAT matters to enhance overall understanding and compliance.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in VAT advisory and compliance within a professional services environment.​
  • Strong understanding of UK and international VAT principles and regulations.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex VAT issues in a clear and accessible manner.​
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse client portfolio and generate new business opportunities.
