About the Role

Accountancy Capital is delighted to partner with a high-growth professional services business based in London, currently seeking an experienced Interim Finance Director to lead their finance function through a period of transformation and strategic realignment.

Working closely with the CEO and Board, the Interim FD will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, implementing robust reporting structures, and supporting ongoing M&A discussions. This is a highly commercial and hands-on role, suited to a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise and a track record of success in dynamic, fast-paced environments

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance function, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Drive financial strategy and decision-making in collaboration with the executive leadership team
  • Provide clear insight into performance metrics and KPIs across business units
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts and board packs
  • Support the ongoing development of financial systems and controls, ensuring scalability
  • Advise on commercial opportunities including pricing strategy, contract reviews, and investment decisions
  • Manage external relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel
  • Lead due diligence and integration planning for potential acquisitions
Qualifications

Candidate Profile

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 10+ years of post-qualification experience
  • Proven experience as a Finance Director or CFO in a mid-sized or high-growth business
  • Strong technical background with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to influence at C-suite and board level
  • Previous interim experience and the ability to hit the ground running
  • Exposure to M&A activity is highly desirable
  • Experience in professional or business services sectors preferred
